Safeguarding
At Gladstone Park Primary School the health, safety and wellbeing of every child is our top priority. We expect all staff, local governors and volunteers to share this commitment to safeguarding our pupils.
Our Designated Safeguarding Lead is Ms Vanlata Nathu (Deputy Headteacher). Our Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead is Ms Dorothy Scott (Assistant Headteacher). We have a number of policies and procedures in place that contribute to our safeguarding commitment, including our Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy, which can be found in the Policies section of this website.
We actively support the Government's Prevent Agenda to counter radicalism and extremism. How we do this is set out in our Tackling Extremism and Anti-Radicalisation Policy, which can also be found under Policies.
Working with outside agencies
Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child's welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with parents/carers first, unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child's welfare.
Anyone who has any concerns about a child being harmed or at risk of harm can contact Brent's Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) via Brent Family Front Door on 020 8937 4300 (option 1), or 020 8863 5250 outside normal office hours (9am - 5pm).
Taking and using photos at school
When your child starts at Gladstone Park, we ask families to complete a permission form to allow images of your child to be published by the school on the school's website and social media accounts, in newsletters and other publications, and sometimes promotional materials. The photos may also be used for similar purposes by our Trust, Anthem.
You can change your parental preference at any time by contacting the school office.
Taking and using of photos or other digital images by parents and carers
We are happy for parents and carers to take photos and videos at school events for personal use, but please could we remind you that these images must not be shared or put online (e.g. on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc) unless they are only of your own children. This is to safeguard all members of the school community.
This is emphasised before concerts and shows etc and where practical a record of parents and relatives taking photographs or videos is made.
We understand that in exceptional circumstances a parent or carer may not wish their child to be photographed or videoed in this way. If this is the case then please contact the Headteacher to discuss how this can be accommodated.
