Reminder Re Bug club
We hope all of you and your family are staying safe and well during these difficult times.
We have been checking how many children have been using bug club and reading the books allocated to them by the teachers. Thank you to all those children who have been using this site to supplement their reading. Some children have read an amazing number of books. Well done!
However, there are still a number of children who have not been using Bug club at all. This is a cause for concern for the school as well as for yourselves as we wonder how many children are continuing to read both for pleasure and in order to improve their skills. Because of lockdown restrictions, we know that access to ‘real’ books has been greatly reduced so the need for children to access books digitally has become more important.
May we remind all parent/carers that children should be reading daily and that Bug club is a wonderful resource. Teachers can allocate books to children specifically at their level. The children can read and then develop their comprehension skills by answering the questions set on each text.
If you have any problems regarding the use of Bug club, please let your child’s teacher know as soon as possible via email or class dojo.
Please ensure that your children continue to read for a minimum of 20 minutes every day and don’t forget to share a book at bedtime.
Thank you for your support
The login details for Bug Club are glued on the inside cover of your child’s Reading Record book. If you don’t have them, please email your teacher.
