Equality objectives

The Equality Act 2010 requires us to publish specific and measurable equality objectives.

Our equality objectives are based on our analysis of data and other information. Our

equality objectives focus on those areas where we have agreed to take action to improve

equality and tackle disadvantages.

We will regularly review the progress we are making to meet our equality objectives.

Equality objective 1:

To increase the number of Disadvantaged children attaining at a higher level by July 2016

Progress we are making on this objective:

Children identified and targeted. Performance Management targets for teachers to

raise attainment for Disadvantaged children. Extra staff employed and Inclusion staff timetabled

to further support pupils.

Equality objective 2:

All groups of pupils regularly attend school in line with National expectation.

Progress we are making on this objective:

Pupils and parents are aware of the importance of attendance as a life skill. We remind

parents about attendance and punctuality through newsletters, texts and letters. Attendance

is emphasised with classes being awarded with the Attendance In KS1 and KS2 on a weekly

basis.  100% certificates are awarded to pupils with 100% Attendance at the end of the year.

Where attendance is below 95%, this is dealt with on an individual basis and Educational Welfare Services are advised when necessary.

Equality objective 3:

To modify the school building to have wheelchair access from a Year 1 and 2 classroom, 1 x KS2 classroom and ICT suite

Progress we are making on this objective:

Areas identified above are being modified by ramps being built. These have been measured and will be completed within the next term.

Part 7: Information about our employees

We have less than 150 employees therefore we are not required to publish information

about them
