Corona-virus Update

Thank you for your ongoing support at this very unsettling time. We have had no reported cases within the school community of anyone that has tested positive for COVID-19. We are continuing to encourage children to wash their hands thoroughly with soap throughout the day and use the hand sanitisers as well as minimising physical contact.

The site team are also cleaning communal touch points such as doors and handrails regularly with disinfectant as well as full cleans after school and at the weekend.  Children should bring in their own water bottle to school from Monday, clearly labelled with their name. Please fill the water bottle in the morning for them before they come to school.

We have been working on a contingency plan in case the school does have to close in the near future. An outline has been set up for each year group and, if the school is closed, teachers will set work  online for the children to access. Children will also be given a Home Learning pack and there are many online sites available. Please see links for these on your child's class page on the website.

We continue to take advice from Public Health England (PHE) and the Department for Education (DfE) on next steps.

I am sure that you will be aware of further guidance issued by the Government yesterday on Coronavirus and its impact on schools. Important messages that impact on our school and decisions made as result of this are highlighted below:

Children with Coronavirus symptoms (either a high temperature or a new, continuous cough) must be kept at home for 7 days and the school informed that they will be self-isolating. https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/

Please call NHS 111 if:

-You think you might have coronavirus

-In the last 14 days you have been to a country or area with a high risk of coronavirus

-You have been in close contact with someone with coronavirus

We have been advised by Public Health England that the phone lines are getting an unprecedented number of calls at the moment. If you require any advice from them please use the online tool: https://111.nhs.uk/covid-19

The latest advice on the coronavirus can be found at: https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus

All communications around COVID-19 (Coronavirus) will be sent by email as well as published on the school website. Please check this regularly for updates.

Thank you for your continued support at this difficult time.

Kind regards
