Science week 5


We are continuing our learning about plants.

We are also continuing our plant diary. You can either print out the template for each week or create your own using the template as an idea. 


What your child will know by the end of their learning this week: 

To know how plants change from a seed into a plant.

Activity 1: Continue your plant diary.

Fill out the third page of the plant diary saying what you can see so far and draw a picture of what you see. Label your picture. How did your plant change so far? 

Activity 2: Watch the videos and observe the changes in the growth of a bean. - links below. 

What happens to the seed in the videos? Which parts does your seedling have now? Did it have them before? What did it need to grow? Based on what you have seen in the videos, what do you think will happen to your plant in the next seven days?


Activity 3: Draw a lifecycle of a bean!

Think about where your bean plant started from and where it is now. Draw the stages of its growth and complete with where its life is going to end. What is going to happen to the plant once it dies? Its seeds? Look at the Power Point below.
