Week beginning 27th April

WORD OF THE WEEK

dismal

adjective meaning gloomy, really bad or causing a depressing mood. Not happy or cheerful.

The dismal weather this morning made my feel like getting back under the duvet and not going to school as I knew we won't be going outside at playtime.

When I saw my mum's dismal face, I knew something was wrong.

Other words that mean the same as dismal: gloomy, unhappy, glum, dark, dreary, drab, depressing, bleak.

Your challenge is to use the word of the week at least once every day in a sentence this week.
